Finding a Rhythm for 2024

Why hello there! As I sit writing this, Christmas is fast approaching and, with it, the end of 2023. As the end of the year approaches, I have been working to start getting back into a rhythm for 2024. It has taken some time, but I’m finally ready to start seriously pursuing my photography and other adventures again! I figured I’d take some time to give you all an update on what the next year will have in store.

What’s in store for 2024?

So, what exactly do I have planned for this coming year? Well, in short, a whole lot!

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I moved to Colorado in the middle of 2023. I can’t overstate how many new and exciting opportunities this will offer me! While it has taken me a bit longer to get settled than I initially thought it would, this move is going to allow me to start the next chapter of Adam Thompson photography.

With that out of the way, let’s take a closer look at some of what’s on the horizon.

Hiking and Backpacking

This one should come as absolutely no surprise. I now live in one of the most beautiful parts of the country (and within easy driving distance of even more amazing places). As such, you can count on there being a plethora of new hiking and backpacking adventures that I will share with you all on this very blog, as well as Instagram and Facebook.

Oh, and you know how much I loved my arches in Kentucky? Well, there’s going to be a whole lot more of them now that I’m a stone’s throw away from Utah!

Photography

Yes, I will of course be working hard to pursue my love of photography again. I was quite a bit inconsistent with it between moving to Maryland and then eventually to here in Colorado, but I’m planning on changing that in 2024. You can count on there being lots of epic landscapes, cool new arches, and plenty of abandonment.

YouTube

Ah yes, my long-neglected YouTube channel. At the time of writing this, it has been over 2 years since I last uploaded a video. This really wasn’t the plan. You see, the initial move from Kentucky to Maryland resulted in me simply being too busy to create any new videos. Then as I got settled into my new home in Maryland, I didn’t have the inspiration to get out and film any.

Well, my intention is for that to change. Starting in 2024, I will begin producing content for my YouTube channel once again. I’m not going to make any commitments as far as a schedule or frequency of uploads right now. I’m simply committing to producing some amount of content for the channel in the coming year. Beyond that, let’s just play it by ear for now ;)

Just the tip of the iceberg

While the previous three items I mentioned will be my primary focus for the coming year, I have plenty more that I’m excited to work on and share with you. I’ll save those ideas for later, though. Want to stay in the loop? Consider subscribing to my e-mail newsletter!
